The Class of 1969 participated on the Theodore Roosevelt Representatives Committee who decided many attributes such as the school colors and mascots; basic senior ring design; athletic, band, drill team, and pep squad uniforms and even the Official parking decals. We were the first Sophomore Class of a brand new high school in San Antonio, Texas.
In August 3, 1949, seven small school districts merged in the NE Rural School District. Census records showed 756 scholastics, 399 of which were enrolled in these schools. Serna Common School District was the first school district servicing the area Roosevelt High School serves today, had 274 scholastics and the largest enrollment of the seven.*
The Class of 1969 graduated 368 Seniors who have become Doctors, Lawyers, Military Leaders, Consultants, Builders, Entrepreneurs, Corporate Vice Presidents, US Ambassadors, etc, and especially parents to great future leaders - their children. What makes this class special is many of us have known each other since grade school. As seen at the latest reunion - there are no strangers! It is difficult to imagine after so many years this same group of people can get together as if nothing had changed - except for a few wrinkles (laugh lines) and pounds (abundance).
This website represents our effort to keep everyone together, have fun, solve mysteries, update and centralize this information.
We hope to locate all classmates.
